RailPin is a free preview, provided “as is”. Locations are approximate.
By using it you also agree to Google’s Maps terms.
It is not for operational, safety, navigation or trackside use. Never enter or approach the railway — that is illegal and dangerous.
Anything you contribute, you confirm you’re allowed to share, and you let us publish it.

1. About these terms

RailPin (the “Service”) is a preview service operated by Exametry.xyz (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Questions: [email protected].

2. Google Maps

The Service uses Google Maps. By using the Service you also agree to be bound by Google’s Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms), including the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and you acknowledge Google’s Privacy Policy. The Google logo and map data attributions shown on the map must not be removed or obscured.

3. Railway data and how to use it

RailPin shows the approximate locations of railway structures and related features. This information is derived from Network Rail open data (© Network Rail Infrastructure Limited), together with corrections and additions contributed by users, and is provided for general information and reference only. Use of the underlying Network Rail data is subject to Network Rail’s own licence terms.

Safety — please read The Service is not intended for operational railway use, navigation, surveying, or any safety-critical purpose, and must not be relied on as such. Positions may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You must never use the Service as a reason to enter, cross, or approach the railway, its structures or any restricted land. Trespass on the railway is illegal and extremely dangerous.

You agree to use the railway data only for lawful, non-operational purposes, and not in any way that endangers yourself or others.

4. Your contributions

If you add a structure or submit a correction:

You confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it.
You must not submit anything unlawful, infringing, offensive, or containing personal data about identifiable people.
You grant Exametry.xyz a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, store, adapt, publish and display your contribution as part of the Service and its dataset.
We may review, edit, reject or remove any contribution, and submissions are typically held for moderation before appearing.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully; scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract its data or imagery; overload, probe or interfere with the Service or its API; reverse engineer it; remove attributions; or misuse third-party content (including Google’s) in breach of its terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its design and its compiled dataset are owned by or licensed to Exametry.xyz. Map imagery and base data are owned by Google and its data providers. Underlying railway/geographic data remains the property of its respective owners and is used under their terms. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. As a preview, features may change or be withdrawn at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Exametry.xyz shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any reliance on the railway data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the Service develops; the “last updated” date shows the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
